How to take the best pictures after a car accident

After a car accident, your primary concern should be on whether anyone suffered any injuries. However, it is vital to also pay attention to the property damage after a car crash.

You need to contact your insurance agency, doctor and the police right after the incident. It is also critical to take as many pictures as you can after the collision. To better help your claim, you should take more pictures than you think you need to increase your chances of a more successful case.

Take close-ups and long shots

You want to document every instance of damage on both vehicles. You want plenty of close-up shots so that an insurance agent can clearly see the damage your vehicle sustained. While exterior shots are helpful, you also want to take pictures of the inside of your car because some damage may be evident there. You should photograph the scene from different angles so that an insurance representative sees exactly who caused the accident.

Photograph any injuries you sustained

Some injuries may be readily apparent. While you need to see a doctor to treat any of these injuries, you also want to photograph your injuries prior to treatment. Insurance representatives will try to get out of paying as much as they can. By showing what you looked like immediately after the crash, your insurance agency will have a harder time arguing you were fine right after the crash.

Show the weather and road

In addition to photographing the cars, you want to show what the weather was like. The weather could have played a role in the crash. Additionally, it is possible street signs had obstructions that contributed to the collision. Anything that could potentially help your case is good to get on the record.
